Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium, University of Maryland, College Park.


The swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, and pink flamingo competitions, as well as the water polo championship game(s) will be held at the University of Maryland’s Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium, which offers one 50x25-yard pool all deep-water competition pool with two movable bulkheads and an underwater sound system. In addition, there is a 25 yard x 25 yard warm-up pool. The facility has hosted regional, national and international events such as the 1999 and 2002 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships; the YMCA Nationals in the summer of 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003; the 1999 and 2000 FINA World Cups; and the 2003 USA Summer National Championships.

  • The competition pool depths range from 8 1/2 to 13 1/2ft, and will be configured for two 25m 8 lane courses for the swimming competition.
  • There are two one-meter diving boards and two three-meter diving platforms for the diving competition.
  • Food will be available onsite for purchase.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website has metro schedules, and maps of the area around metro stations.

  1. Walk (.48 miles) to the Farragut North Metro Station (Red Line)
  2. Take the Red Line toward Glenmont
  3. Transfer at Fort Totten to the Green Line toward Greenbelt
  4. Exit at the College Park station
  5. Board shuttle to the UMD Aquatic Center (across from Student Union)
Estimated travel time: 55 minutes

*Direct shuttle service provided for warm-up on Saturday/Sunday mornings before Metro opens.




By Car

  1. Take RHODE ISLAND AVE. away from Scott Circle (go approx. 6.0 miles)
  2. Continue on US-1 (go approx. 2.1 mi)
  3. Turn LEFT on REGENTS DRIVE (entering UMD Campus)
  4. Continue on REGENTS through a traffic circle
  5. After the circle turn LEFT (your 2nd left) at STADIUM DRIVE
  6. Turn RIGHT on VALLEY DRIVE.
  7. Park in LOT 2. The recreation center is on your right.

Takoma Community Center, Washington DC.

The majority of the water polo games will take place at the Takoma Community Center in Washington, DC. The facility opened in 2005 and features a 50x25-meter pool pool that can host two water polo games simultaneously in two all-deep water polo pools. The recreation center has hosted several water polo tournaments organized by the Washington Wetskins, as well as numerous age-group and masters swimming competitions. There are full locker room facilities as well as ample stadium seating.

*Championship matches are currently scheduled to be contested at the University of Maryland on Sunday, June 24th. However, this is subject to change based on time constraints.

By Metro

  1. Walk (.48 miles) to the Farragut North Metro Station (Red Line)
  2. Take the Red Line toward Glenmont
  3. Exit at the Takoma station
  4. Take the south exit to the street level
  5. Head RIGHT on CARROL STREET under the metro tracks
  6. At the immediate 5-way intersection, walk LEFT onto 4TH STREET and proceed south 4 blocks
  7. You will dead end into VAN BUREN, directly in front of the recreation complex
  8. The pool is the large building directly behind a smaller brick building

By Car

  1. Take RHODE ISLAND AVE. towards Scott Circle and turn RIGHT on the service road onto 16TH ST
  2. Continue NORTH on 16th, then turn RIGHT on ARKANSAS AVE (approx. 2.1 miles)
  3. ARKANSAS ends at GEORGIA AVE., turn LEFT (approx. 1 mile)
  4. Turn RIGHT onto SHERIDAN (approx. 1 mile)
  5. Turn LEFT onto 3RD ST (approx. 0.6 miles)
  6. You will pass recreation fields on your left. Your first left will be the entrance to the Recreation Center Parking lot
  7. Once parked, the pool is located in the large building in front of you.
